February 1, 2013
This past week has been a whirlwind of musical rehearsals, classes and social events here on campus. As the College Choir draws nearer to our opening night of Iolanthe (one week!), our practices have grown longer and more frequent. Though the rehearsal process can be exhausting and time-consuming, it is never boring, and the final product is going to be spectacular.
This weekend also brings with it parties and gatherings of all sorts. Our hockey teams are in the busiest parts of their season, student organizations are getting back into the swing of throwing campus-wide events, and, of course, everyone’s getting pumped up for the Superbowl on Sunday. Needless to say, Hamilton will be swarming with activity this weekend, in spite of the snow.
And this is just the beginning of the semester! I’ve been sifting through emails all day, reading about upcoming speakers, musicians, plays and campus-wide parties, wondering how on earth I’ll do everything I want to this semester. (Answer: I won’t. But that won’t stop me from trying.) This semester has started off with a bang, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of it follows.
