Librarians Visit Clinton Central School

By Kristin Strohmeyer

December 16, 2013

On Tuesday, December 17th, Research Librarians Laura Festine and Kristin Strohmeyer spent the day at the Clinton Central School speaking to four sections of eleventh grade English about critical thinking skills, plagiarism and college research expectations.  Theresa Scott, high school English teacher, and Linda Chesebro, Secondary School Library Media Specialist, invited the pair after hearing them speak at a meeting of regional school librarians held at Hamilton College in late November.  They stressed the importance of making their voice heard in their research, and how the disciplines cite information differently.  The transition to college can be a bumpy ride, and having academic librarians address students while still in high school may help to alleviate some stressors about doing research in college.
