Research Appointments

Whether you have a major research assignment to complete or just want to know how to use the online catalog, librarians are here to guide the way. Make an appointment with a research librarian for individualized assistance with research papers, senior projects, theses and more. To make arrangements, please stop by the Information Desk in Burke Library or request an appointment through our convenient research appointment request form.

Faculty Research

Library liaisons provide expertise and assistance in supporting faculty research needs. Email us at askref@hamilton.edu, call x4735, or contact your department’s liaison librarian to arrange an appointment.

Course Support

Burke Library’s Information Literacy Program endeavors to provide students the research skills essential for intellectual exploration and academic success; to empower library users in effectively locating, organizing, and evaluating information from multiple sources—laying the foundation for critical inquiry, informed understanding, and the creation of new knowledge. Faculty are encouraged to contact a liaison librarian to discuss library-related assignments and to arrange for specialized instruction sessions. Faculty may also submit requests through our library instruction form.    Library instruction for first year courses is provided by our First Year Experience librarian, Alexandra Rihm.

More about course support.

Electronic Resources

Faculty and students have access to over 150 library databases, including 200,000 eBooks, and approximately 27,000 electronic journals—available 24/7 from on or off campus.  With so many great resources to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start the research process. Please refer to the library’s subject guides, designed to help you identify subject specific resources, or consult a librarian for personalized assistance with databases or eBooks.
