Turning out Fulbrights

Eight Hamilton students received Fulbright scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year, placing Hamilton fourth on the list of top Fulbright recipients according to the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Hamilton is the only New York college listed among the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the country. Since 2000, Hamilton students have received 32 Fulbright awards. More ...



"[A] poll conducted by Hamilton College with Zogby finds the conservative trend among high school seniors when it comes to abortion. While most students believe Roe vs. Wade should be upheld, the majority supported restrictions on abortion, such as those regarding parental consent. Two-thirds of the students said abortion was always or usually morally wrong."

- Jay Rishel '06, captain of the Hamilton football team, quoted in the Jan. 20, 2006, Spectator on the hiring of Steve Stetson as the new Mary Jayne Comey and Mac Bristol '43 head football coach. Stetson returns to the Hill, where he was head coach from 1982-84. He led the 1984 team to a 6-1-1 record and was named the New England region's Coach of the Year. Stetson served as associate head football coach at the University of New Hampshire for the past four years. He previously coached at Boston University and Hartwick College.
