Deborah Forte '75 produces new film The Golden Compass
Deborah Forte '75, Hamilton trustee and president of Scholastic Media Inc., is a producer of the film The Golden Compass, which was released to strong reviews by New Line Cinema on Dec. 7. The Golden Compass is the first novel in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. The movie cast includes Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Sam Elliott and Eva Green and is directed by Chris Weitz. Josh Simpson '72 at meet-the-artist event in NYC
Josh Simpson '72 will participate in a meet-the-artist event at the Steuben Glass flagship New York City store Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14 and 15, from noon to 6 p.m. in conjunction with an exhibit of his work there. Simpson's Steuben Selection Exhibition will be on view at the store, 667 Madison Ave. at 61st Street, through Dec. 31. A.G. Lafley '69 named to Fortune Power 25 list
A.G. Lafley '69, chairman and CEO of Procter & Gamble and newly elected chairman of Hamilton's Board of Trustees, has been named to Fortune magazine's Power 25 list. The magazine notes, "Since taking charge in 2000, when Procter & Gamble was sinking under the weight of too many new products and organizational changes, Lafley has refocused on consumers and rejuvenated core businesses." Investment firm founded by David Blood '81 and Al Gore featured in Fortune
Generation Investment Management, a London investment company started by David Blood '81 with former Vice President Al Gore, was featured in a Fortune magazine article, "Al Gore's next act: Planet-saving VC" (11/13/07). The article profiles Generation and its new alliance with Kleiner Perkins, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. It notes that Generation, a $1 billion investment company, was started three years ago "to analyze and invest in publicly traded 'sustainable' companies." Blood, who is former head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, is featured in a sidebar titled "Talking 'bout their generation."

Milton Kayle '43 was interviewed for a Fox News channel documentary, "War Stories Biography: Harry S. Truman" with Oliver North, broadcast Nov. 17. Kayle was a member of President Truman's White House staff from 1951 to 1953. More ...
