Run for the Fallen reaches finish line

Cleary '03and the more than 4,000 service members who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, Run for the Fallen completed its 70-day journey Aug. 24 with runs and services in Arlington (Va.) Tuggle '84 named to new Coca-Cola post

Clyde Tuggle '84, president of The Coca-Cola Company's Russia, Ukraine and Belarus business unit, has been named head of productivity and corporate affairs at Coke's corporate headquarters in Atlanta. Acampora '05 is Maryland's History Teacher of Year

Thomas Acampora '05, a social studies teacher at Baltimore Talent Development High School, has been named Maryland's History Teacher of the Year award by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and Preserve America. He will receive a $1,000 honorarium and compete for the national award this fall. The school's library also will be given an archive of history books and other materials from the institute. More ...

Seaman '67 receives journalism award

A. Barrett Seaman '67 has been presented with the Research Society on Alcoholism 2008 Journalism Award for his contribution to the field of alcohol research through his book Binge: Campus Life in an Age of Disconnection and Excess. He is a director of Choose Responsibility, a nonprofit organization founded "to stimulate informed and dispassionate public discussion about the presence of alcohol in American culture." More ...

Werner '92 a fellow at Harvard

John Werner '92, founder and executive director of Citizen Schools of Boston, has been named a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. Prescott '69 wins new term as U.N. postal chair

Charles A. Prescott '69, P'12 won a second four-year term as chair of the Consultative Committee to the Universal Postal Union UPU at the Committee's first plenary congress in Geneva, Switzerland. The UPU is a special body of the United Nations that serves as a forum for the discussion of the international postal network. Prescott has overseen the committee since its inception in 2004. Tull '92 to be honored by mentoring nonprofit

Thomas Tull '92, founder, chairman and CEO of Legendary Pictures, will be honored at The Fulfillment Fund's Annual Gala, to be held Oct. 13 in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Fulfillment Fund is a nonprofit organization that offers mentoring, college access services and scholarships to Los Angeles youth. More ...
