Matthew Handelman '06 Awarded Fulbright Teaching AssistantshipHe'll Teach English In GermanyContact: Holly FosterPhone: (315) 859-4068 April 11, 2006 Matthew Handelman '06, a candidate for graduation from Hamilton College in May, has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship. A mathematics and German major at Hamilton, he will teach English as a foreign language in Germany. The purpose of the Fulbright Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. The program is designed to give recent college graduates opportunities for personal development and international experience. Handelman studied in Germany at the University of Tuebingen in 2004-05. At Hamilton he is an Adirondack Adventure trip leader, an ITS Help@Night Help Desk intern, a disc jockey at WHCL and member of the German Club, Cycling Club, Chess Club and Outing Club. He is the son of Carol and Alvin Handelman of Northfield, Minn. |
