A widely regarded scholar of International Relation, European Politics, and the European Union, Cafruny, has published numerous books and articles including most recently Europe at Bay: In the Shadow of US Hegemony (Lynne Rienner, 2007; co-authored with Magnus Ryner) and A Ruined Fortress: Neoiberal Hegemony and Transformation in Europe, (Rowman and Littlefield, 2003; co-edited with Magnus Ryner). Cafruny is knowledgeable about political, economic, and foreign policy issues of the EU; Europe's relationship with NATO and the United States; and the politics of southeastern Europe.
