Granof '63 Concludes Fall Levitt Center Lecture Series
Michael H. Granof, Hamilton alumnus and chair of the accounting department at University of Texas in Austin, presented, "Andersen, Enron and Beyond," last week. As this semester’s final Levitt Center speaker, Granoff not only addressed the Enron scandal but issues related to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Granof said his reference to Andersen and Enron was merely a shorthand to refer to all the recent corporate scandals that have transpired over the last year including WorldCom and Tyco. He concluded his remarks by emphasizing the need for visionary corporate leadership and a strengthened SEC. Assistant Professor of Psychology Julie Dunsmore organized senior thesis presentations in Psychology and Neuroscience on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Thirteen seniors made powerpoint presentations of their work. Presentations included research from areas such as Alzheimer's Disease, the eating habits of runners, and infant motor development. The Hamilton College Choir will perform with the University Glee Club of New York City at its 217th Members Concert on Friday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m., in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York. Hamilton’s Choir will perform three songs jointly with the Glee Club: "My Lord What a Morning," "Somewhere/Tonight" ("West Side Story"), and "Ride the Chariot."
