Harry Hutson '69 Co-Authors Book Named to Harvard Business Review "Breakthrough Ideas" List
Harry Hutson '69 is co-author of a book with Barbara Perry, Putting Hope to Work that has been named one of 20 "Breakthrough Ideas for 2007" by Harvard Business Review (HBR). The annual HBR list is a survey of emerging ideas that the editors "believe will shape and reshape business in the months and years to come." Hutson and Perry's goal in writing Putting Hope to Work: Five Principles to Activate Your Organization’s Most Powerful Resource (Praeger, 2006) was to raise awareness and appreciation of the largely unexamined asepct of leadership by making it visible, discussable and actionable in organizational terms. According to the book's Web site: Integrating insights from fields as diverse as anthropology, psychology, philosophy, and biology, Hutson and Perry identify the five key principles of hope - possibility, agency, worth, openness and connection - and demonstrate how they can be developed in any type of organization.  More ...

Sean Ryan '94 Joins NFL
Sean Ryan '94 recently became the first Hamilton football alumnus to hold a position within the National Football League. According to The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.), the New York Giants have hired Ryan as the offensive quality control coach. Ryan played defensive back and outside linebacker for the Continentals during his collegiate career and graduated with a degree in American studies. More ...
