	Patrick Geary, a leading historian of the middle ages from Princeton University, will present a lecture titled &amp;ldquo;The Dilemma of Translation: Sacred Scripture and Sacred Power in the Early Middle Ages,&amp;rdquo; on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 4:10 p.m., in the Taylor Science Center&amp;rsquo;s Kennedy Auditorium at Hamilton College.&amp;nbsp; His lecture is sponsored by Hamilton College&amp;rsquo;s Humanities Forum and is free and open to the public.

	The subject of medieval times frequently conjures up images of knights, chivalry and the iconic and mysterious King Arthur. Most historians agree that King Arthur is probably only a legend, yet his image pervaded medieval history and politics. Meghan Woolley &amp;rsquo;13, a recipient of a 2011 Emerson Summer Grant, will spend the summer exploring the role of Arthurian legend in English monarchies of the 12th to 16th centuries.

Terrell hosted a panel on &amp;quot;Scottish Literature and Identity&amp;quot; at the 44th International Congress on Medieval Studies at Western Michigan University on May 9. In a separate panel at the Congress, she delivered a paper titled &amp;quot;Propaganda, Politics, and the Anglo-Scottish Border,&amp;quot; in which she examined portrayals of the medieval Anglo-Scottish border in historiography, cartography, and law.</description>
