They coordinate volunteer requests with local non-profits, plan events and organize volunteers.

	On athletic practice fields and team buses and in the Kirner-Johnson atrium, large groups of students joined in writing thank you postcards to donors throughout S.T.O.P. Day. The celebration of &amp;ldquo;Starting Today Others Pay&amp;rdquo; Day began with a presentation by Vice President of Administration and Finance Karen Leach, ended with remarks by alumnus John Werner &amp;rsquo;92 and resulted in more than 2,000 thank you cards penned by students to donors.

	Hamilton has received notification from the SunUp Foundation of a $16 million donation, the single most generous act of philanthropy in the college&amp;rsquo;s history. Edward &amp;rsquo;46 and Virginia Taylor, directors for the foundation, recently informed the college of the commitment, which will establish Hamilton&amp;rsquo;s largest financial aid endowment and provide support for faculty research in the sciences and new arts facilities.
