On July 25, 2009, Matthew Spencer Innes '05 and Eric Scott Kaplan '04, former Hamilton roommates and Varsity Lacrosse teammates will again head off to Fairfield, Conn. for the second consecutive year to ride in the 5th Annual Connecticut Challenge 100-mile Century Ride.

The ride, a 100-mile loop through the backroads and hills of Connecticut, supports the Yale Cancer Center and other various research organizations focused on Cancer Survivorship; saluting patients and survivors, bringing vital support to those who have battled against the disease and now live with often difficult, long-term side effects. The riders and organization has raised over $2,000,000 for various beneficiaries over the past 4-years.

While primarily focused on survivorship, the money raised also is utilized for more general research and also recognizes the battles fought and sadly lost by friends and our loved ones.

Kaplan said, "We ride for those who have battled and endured, but as we ride, we never forget those loved ones who have not survived, but made possible, through events like the Connecticut Challenge, an advancement towards a cure."
