The Fairfield County Alumni Association has organized an evening of contemporary art at the gallery of Adrienne Ruger Conzelman '92 in Fairfield, CT on Tuesday, March 9. Following a reception held at 6:30, there will be a talk by artist Hunt Slonem and remarks by Deborah Pokinski, Associate Professor of Art.

Hunt Slonem is "a romantic with a bit of Abstract Expressionist brush" according to art critic Vincent Katz. Ilka Scobie notes that "his familiar and widely exhibited repertoire of exotic birds, animals and flora pulse with vibrant color and immediacy." Ronny Cohen praises his "rich, luminous compositions that are not only a source of visual pleasure but also reflect his long-standing preoccupation with the natural world as a site of spiritual transcendence." Slonem's paintings belong to many museums and collections around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.

ARC Fine Art LLC specializes in contemporary art of all media, including painting, works on paper, sculpture, photography, prints, site-specific installations, and video. Based both in and out of the United States, the artists represented range from the newly emerging to the most established in their fields. ARC Fine Art LLC also offers a more limited selection of works for sale by 19th and early 20th century American painters.

The gallery is located at 3113 Bronson Road in Fairfield, Connecticut, at the end of the driveway in a gray cottage. The event costs $30 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the Emerson Gallery.
