A dramatic reading of Aristophanes' anti-war play Lysistrata will take place on Monday, March 3 at 8:30 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn at Hamilton College, as part of the first-ever world-wide theatre event for peace. The parts of the play will be read by students and faculty in theatre, classics, English and other departments. This will be one of more than 375 such readings going on in 31 countries on that day, for peace. The play will be preceded by a lecture on a peace issues by Margo Okazawa-Rey.

The reading will benefit the Mohawk Valley Peace Coalition. The public is invited to attend and a small donation is suggested. The event is sponsored by the Kirkland Endowment, Classics department, the Theatre and Dance department, and the Peace and Justice Action Group.
