Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty David Paris, who is the James S. Sherman Professor of Government at Hamilton, was interviewed by TIME.com for an article about President Bush's education reform plan.

Paris is quoted as saying, "it's not clear whether vouchers would actually be the kiss of death to any education reform package. Certainly at this point the word 'voucher' has taken on a political life of its own, and introduction could wreak havoc on the education debate. If the conversation turns to vouchers, the air will be poisoned."
