Sudipta Sen, professor of history at the University of California, Davis, will present a lecture titled “Sacred Drops: History, Ecology, and the Ganga” on Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m., in KJ 102. It is free and open to the public.

Sen is a historian of late medieval and early modern India and the British Empire whose work has focused on the early colonial history of British India. The author of two books, he is currently working on two book length manuscripts.

The lecture is part of the spring 2010 Asian Studies speakers series and is made possible with funding by the Julie J. Kidd Fund for the Study of International Issues and the Dean of Faculty Office.
