Celebrated author and poet Nikki Giovanni will perform at Hamilton on Thursday, April 12, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by ElderLife, Inc. and Hamilton College. The performance will be followed by a book signing.
Through poetry and live performance Giovanni speaks of tolerance, unity and sharing of common interests. She brings a wide range of people together on critical community issues, bridging ages, cultures and backgrounds. Currently Giovanni is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech, and has been the recpient of several prestigious awards, including two NAACP Image Awards.
