Award-winning poet Mark Doty will lecture at Hamilton College on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel as a guest in the Winton Tolles Lecture Series. It is free and open to the public.

The Tolles Lecture was established in 1991 by members of the class of 1951 in memory of Winton Tolles, class of 1928 and dean of the college from 1947 to 1972. It brings to the campus distinguished writers in the fields of literature, journalism and theater to lecture and meet with students.

Mark Doty is the author of five books of poetry, including, My Alexandria (1993), which was chosen for the National Poetry Series by Philip Levine, and won the National Book Critics Circle Award, Britain's T. S. Eliot Prize, The Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and was a finalist for the National Book Award. His book, Atlantis (1995), was named a Notable Book of the Year by both The New York Times and the American Library Association, and received the Bingham Poetry Prize, the Bingham Poetry Prize,
