Barbara Stein, K'72, received a Frank Withrow Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) at NCTET's 2009 Bytes & Books Inaugural Ball on January 20, 2009 at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.  The award was in honor of Barbara's exemplary effort in advancing education and technology for almost 30 years.  During her tenure at the National Education Association (NEA), Barbara has been involved in projects as diverse as civil rights, education for women and girls, and Teacher TV.  Some of her most notable work has been in the field of policy analysis and development on education technology, online education, and new trends affecting education.  In 2006, Barbara was named manager of 21st Century Education for NEA.  In this position she led NEA's effort to transform education to reflect the realities and realize the opportunities of the 21st Century.
