SUNY Cortland scored in every inning and the nationally ranked No. 13 Red Dragons cruised to a 28-2 win over Hamilton College in a non-conference game at Cortland's Wallace Field on April 28.
 
Cortland (28-7-1 overall) scored three runs in the first and one in the second to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Red Dragons added three runs in both the third and the fourth innings. Cortland ran away with the game with a seven-run fifth inning. The Red Dragons scored two more in the sixth, seven in the seventh and two in the eighth.
 
John Summa ‘12 made his first start on the mound for the Continentals (8-23). Summa (0-1) pitched three innings, allowed five earned runs on six hits and walked two batters.
 
Wes Mayberry ‘11 was 2-for-3 with one double and one single. Grady Vigneau ‘10 had one hit and drove in a run. Alex Augustyn ‘10 and Justin Atwood ‘11 each tallied two singles and scored one run. Augustyn extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Jeremy Brenner ‘10 and Joe Buicko ‘10 finished with one single apiece.
 
Hamilton scored its first run in the top of the third. Atwood singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. A single by Brenner moved Atwood to third, and he scored on a fielding error by the Red Dragons shortstop.
 
In the fourth inning, Augustyn led off with a single, and Mayberry followed with a single to center. Mayberry advanced to second on the throw, and Augustyn moved to third. Vigneau singled to center to drive in Augustyn with Hamilton’s second run.
 
The Continentals wrap up their season with a non-conference doubleheader on the road at Vassar College on Saturday, May 1.
