"About My Life" by Sue Beevers
“Sue Beevers: Quilt Bliss,” an exhibition of art quilts, paintings and textile designs by Sue Beevers ’97,  lecturer in music performance, is on display through May 6, at Utica College’s Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery.

As a student at Hamilton, Beevers majored in art. Inspiration for her designs comes from the world around her and the routines of daily life. Often using fabrics she has dyed or painted herself, she creates quilts that reflect her vision of the way our lives are intertwined with the natural world. She has played the cello for many years and has included images of cellos in several of her pieces.

Beevers is well known in the quilting community – her work has been featured in quilt magazines and her designs have been made into commercially available fabric lines by RJR Fabrics. In addition to painting and quilting, Beevers is the author of Off-The-Shelf Fabric Painting (2004, C&T Publishing, Inc.) and Dancing Dragonflies Quilts (2009). She lives in Deansboro and conducts spinning, weaving and fabric dyeing workshops locally and across the country.
