Professor of Theatre Carole Bellini-Sharp received the Hamilton Alumni Council's Distinguished Service Award during Volunteer Weekend and the Spring 2004 meetings of the Alumni Council. Melissa Joyce-Rosen '86, president of the Hamilton College Alumni Association, made the presentation at a dinner on Friday, April 23.

Committee of the Alumni Council invites members of the on-campus community, alumni, and others to provide the Committee with recommendations for the annual Hamilton College Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award. The deadline for recommendations for the next award is September 8, 2004. In October, the Alumni Council will act on the nomination put forward by the Committee. The formal award presentation will take place at Hamilton during the Spring 2005 meetings of the Alumni Council.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an employee who has substantially contributed to Hamilton through distinguished performance in his or her position and through involvement in student, alumni or other activities in the College community. At the time of selection, the individual will be an active member of Hamilton's faculty, administration, staff, or maintenance and operations.

By September 8, 2004, please forward suggestions to the Alumni Secretary.

All suggestions should include the candidate's name, position at the College, justification for the recommendation, and the name and contact information of the person submitting the suggestion.

The justification should be detailed and should cite specific examples of outstanding performance. All suggestions will be presented to the Nominations Committee of the Alumni Council in the format in which they are submitted to the Alumni Secretary.
