Professor of Biology Ernest Williams took six students to the Northeast Natural History Conference 2012, held April 16-18 at the OnCenter in Syracuse, N.Y., where he and the students all made presentations.

Williams gave a talk titled “A decline in the abundance of monarch butterflies.” The students included seniors Daniel Feinberg, Dilyana Mihalova, Lucas Harris, Bethany O'Meara and Dan Bruzzese, all of whom presented research done for their senior theses with Prof. Bill Pfitsch on invasive plants in the Kirkland Woods. Also presenting was Abby Koppa ’12 whose presentation was based on her senior thesis research with Williams on egg size in the Pearl Crescent, a local butterfly. The students received a lot of attention for their research.
