Chris Hedges, senior fellow at The Nation Institute and the Anschutz Distinguished Fellow at Princeton University, will lecture at Hamilton College on Monday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn. His lecture is part of the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center 2009-10 Speaker Series "Crisis: Danger and Opportunity" and is free and open to the public.

Hedges, a foreign correspondent for The New York Times for 15 years, is the author of the bestselling War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning (2003), Collateral Damage: America's War Against Iraqi Civilians (2008) co-authored with Laila Al-Arian, and his latest book, Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle. Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winner, currently writes for numerous publications including Foreign Affairs, Harper's, The New York Review of Books and Mother Jones. His weekly “Truthdig” column is published every Monday.
