Colby, ranked #1 in the NCAA New England region, improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 at home with a 78-71 win over Hamilton. Andrew Black led the way for the White Mules, scoring 27 points on 11-13 shooting. Colby shot 55% (28-51) from the field for the game.

The Continentals held the lead throughout most of the first half, but Colby went on a 10-2 run to take a 37-30 lead at the end of the first session. Hamilton rallied and took the lead, 54-53, on a Michael Schantz free throw with 10:21 remaining. The Continentals led by four after a Kevin Larson basket with 8:06 remaining, but the White Mules rallied and went ahead 61-60 after an Andy McCollough steal and lay-up at the 5:57 mark. Schantz put Hamilton ahead for the last time, 67-65, with a jumper with just over three minutes remaining. With 0:25 left, Colby, leading 74-71, turned the ball over, but a Kevin Thorpe three-point attempt went in and out, and the White Mules clinched the win at the foul line.

Schantz scored 20 and grabbed 12 rebounds for Hamilton (7-2), while JJ Raedts added 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Continentals shot only 36% (25-69) for the game.
