Courtney Gibbons

Assistant Professor of Mathematics Courtney Gibbons was the co-organizer and co-chair of a session at the annual Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM). The meeting took place in Atlanta Jan. 4th to 7th.

Gibbons led the “AMS (American Mathematical Society) Special Session on Commutative Algebra: Research for Undergraduate and Early Graduate Students” with Nicholas Baeth of the University of Central Missouri.

Gibbons, along with William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Mathematics Dick Bedient, also participated in the Mathematically Bent Theater which features humorous math-themed theatrical pieces.

The Joint Mathematics Meetings combine the annual meetings of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
