Joel W. Johnson Family Professor of Geosciences Eugene Domack presented “LARISSA: LARsen Ice Shelf System, Antarctica; an Interdisciplinary/International Observing and Monitoring Study of a Critical Antarctic Region” on July 19 at the SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research) and Open Science Conference in Portland, Ore.
The biennial SCAR conferences are focused on drawing attention to Antarctic issues and providing scientists from various disciplines an opportunity to present their work. According to the SCAR website, this year’s conference emphasized “SCAR's dual role in facilitating scientific research and providing advice to policy makers.”
