Dr. David Shambaugh will present the Edwin B. Lee Lecture in Asian Studies titled "China's Communist Party: Survival or Collapse?" on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 pm in the Dwight Lounge, Bristol Campus Center.
Shambaugh is professor of political science and international affairs, and director of The China Policy Program in the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University. He is an internationally recognized authority on contemporary Chinese affairs, U.S.-China Relations and the security of the Asia-Pacific region. He has authored and edited 15 books; his newest book is Modernizing China's Military.
Shambaugh previously taught at the University of London, served as editor of The China Quarterly, and staffed in the National Security Council.
