Three economics faculty members participated in the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) national mentoring (CeMENT) workshop held Nov. 21-22 in Tampa, Fla.

As coordinator for the regional CeMENT workshops, Henry Platt Bristol Professor of Economics Ann Owen organized the program and participants. Elizabeth Jensen, the Christian A. Johnson Excellence in Teaching Professor of Economics, was a mentor for the junior female faculty members’ microeconomics group. Assistant Professor of Economics Judit Temesvary was a participant in the macroeconomics group.

The workshop was part of a series funded by the American Economic Association to help junior economists overcome the tenure hurdle, with a special focus on addressing the unique challenges that women face at the beginning of their careers.
