Bill McKibben, journalist and writer on environmental issues, will speak at Hamilton College on Monday, February 19. His talk, "The Environment as the Morally Urgent Issue of Our Time," will take place at 8 p.m. in the Hamilton College Chapel. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Environmental Studies Committee.

McKibben's most famous book, The End of Nature, was a best seller in the early 1990s and argues for the impending disaster of global warming. McKibben has also written Hope, Human, and Wild, a book documenting the progress that has been made on environmental issues. McKibben has also advocated for why families should only have one child, and on the disconnecting effects of the information age on the natural world.
