Friday's activities will include three Family Colleges: The Nature Handbook: A Guide to Observing the Great Outdoors, with The Leonard C. Ferguson Professor of Biology Ernest Williams; a science research poster session featuring the work of 80 students; and Alexander Hamilton: The Life and Legacy of our Most Elusive Founder, with The Sidney Wertimer Associate Professor of History Douglas Ambrose.

President Joan Hinde Stewart will deliver the State of the College address on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 9:30 a.m., in Wellin Hall. The Career Center will host separate workshops for parents of seniors and parents of underclassmen. Three more Family Colleges will take place: On the Trail of Lewis and Clark: An Interdisciplinary, Bicentennial Voyage of Discovery, with Associate Professor of Geology Todd Rayne and Associate Professor of Biology Bill Pfitsch; Integrating the Old and the New on our 194-Year-Old Campus, with Associate Vice President for Facilities and Planning Steve Bellona; and The Real Deal: Teaching and Learning with Art Objects with John McEnroe, the John and Anne Fischer Professor of the Fine Arts in Emerson Gallery.

Performing arts events will include a choral concert and dance performance on Friday at 8 p.m.; a performance by hypnotist-psychic Robert Channing and an A capella concert featuring the Buffers, Hamiltones, Special K and Tumbling After. The choral concert and dance performance will be repeated on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and the College orchestra and jazz Ensemble will perform on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Athletic events will include home games for the field hockey and men's soccer teams on Friday at 4 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m., and football hosting Colby on Saturday at noon.
