Hamilton College is hosting the third annual FebFest, the revival of an old college tradition, from February  4-9, on the campus. Many events are free and open to the public.

Hamilton's first winter carnival was held in 1938, with events such as a hockey game, dance parties, crowning of the carnival queen and a figure skating exhibition by James and Grace Maden of the U.S. Olympic Team. The carnival continued with similar events until the mid-50s, when it lost popularity.  In 2000, a group of Hamilton students brought back the winter carnival with the intention of livening up the hill and reviving the long-lost tradition.

This year's activities will include a snowman building contest, sledding and fireworks display. Following are events that are open to the public. All are free unless otherwise noted.

Friday, February 8th
7-8:30 p.m. Cookies and Cocoa in Cafe Opus. Come enjoy a snack on your way to and from Minor Field to see the fireworks. Sponsored by the Class of 2004.
7:30 p.m.  Fireworks on Minor Field by Auburn/Telestar Display Fireworks Inc.

Saturday, February 9th
