Three Hamilton College athletes have been selected to the 2009 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association NCAA Division III all-region teams.

Colleen Callaghan '11 (Queensbury, N.Y./Glens Falls HS) and Erin McNally '12 (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake HS) were voted to the North Atlantic region first team, and Mary Lancaster '12 (Monkton, Md./Mercersburg Academy [Pa.]) was placed on the second team. A total of 32 players from the region were honored.

Callaghan was second team all-region one year ago. The forward ranked fifth in the Liberty League with 31 points, tied for fifth with 12 goals and tied for fourth with seven assists. Her point total is the second-most in one season in program history.

McNally was also on the second team last year. The midfielder tied for ninth in the league with six assists. She added six goals and finished second on the team with 18 points. She scored the lone goal in Hamilton's league tournament semifinal win against St. Lawrence University on Nov. 4.

Lancaster scored seven goals and assisted on three others for 17 points in 16 games. The forward's goal in overtime lifted the Continentals to a 4-3 come-from-behind win against then-nationally ranked No. 15 William Smith College on Sept. 25.

Hamilton won a team-record 12 games in 2009, hosted the program's first postseason event in 20 years, won for the first time in league tournament play and received a bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time.
