Two Hamilton College field hockey players were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Nov. 17 when the organization selected its 2008 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III all-Region Teams.

Erin McNally '12 (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake HS) and Colleen Callaghan '11 (Queensbury, N.Y./Glens Falls HS) were voted to the North Atlantic Region's Second Team. The all-region selection is the first for either player. A total of 32 players made the all-region team.

McNally started and played every minute of all 15 games at center midfield. She scored two goals and was second on the team with eight assists. She was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and was placed on the all-league First Team earlier in November. She ranked third in the league in assists per game.

Callaghan started all 15 games at forward. She scored seven goals and led the team with 10 assists and 24 points. She joined McNally on the all-league First Team. She ranked second in the league in assists per game and points per game. She is in third place on the program's career list with 17 assists.

Hamilton (8-7 overall) tied for third in the final league standings and made the four-team league championship tournament for the first time in the event's seven-year history. The Continentals capped the year with their first postseason appearance since 1995.
