In the race for high-net-worth clients, banks often say they have the inside track over the big brokerage houses in that they provide a more complete package of services. But only few banks have broken from the pack in wealth management to the thoroughbred set. FleetBoston has not been among them, but that won't be for long, says Marc A. White, who joined as evp and managing director of FleetBoston's Private Clients Group (FPCG) in March... In recruiting White, McGillycuddy says that he "brings extensive sales, relationship management, and marketing experience in wealth management to his new role at Fleet." He left CSFB after 15 years in which he rose to managing director responsible for client relationships in New England. He also managed institutional equity, fixed-income sales, private-client services and equity research. He holds a B.A. from Hamilton College in Clinton NY.
