Hamilton College football player Burke St. John '11 (Chappaqua, N.Y./Deerfield Academy [Mass.]) was selected the defensive player of the week by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Nov. 15.

St. John led a Hamilton defense that allowed 58 yards and eight first downs in a 24-14 win against Bates College on Nov. 14. The defensive lineman was credited with a team-high nine tackles (six solo), including a career-high three sacks. Four of his tackles went for a combined loss of 35 yards.

St. John tied for seventh in the conference with six sacks and led the NESCAC with 15 tackles for loss. The Continentals finished the season with a record of 2-6.
