Alan Rapp, former senior editor at Chronicle Books in San Francisco, will present a lecture titled “Publishing Books on Art, Design, Architecture, and Photography” on Tuesday, March 9, at 4:10 p.m., in the Red Pit (KJ 127). The event is free and open to the public.
Rapp has been in the publishing business for more than 15 years, and was the senior editor of art, design, and photography at Chronicle Books where he helped to publish more than 100 books. He now works on independent book projects while simultaneously pursuing an advanced degree in Design Criticism. Rapp has contributed to Design Observer, San Francisco Magazine, Dwell, Photo District News, and Photo-eye Booklist, among other publications. He is also the editor of Critical Terrain, an online blog “where the images, objects, concepts, and disciplines that shape the designed environment are explored and interpreted.”
