Four Hamilton College athletes were honored by the Liberty League on Oct. 4 when the league announced its weekly award winners.

In field hockey, Erin McNally '12 (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake HS) was selected offensive performer of the week, and Nikki Haskins '14 (Quincy, Mass./Southfield School) was a co-rookie of the week pick. The honors were the first this year for both players.

Anthony Balbo '13 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill HS) was a men's soccer co-offensive performer of the week selection for the second time this season. Liza Gergenti '14 (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley HS) received a women's soccer co-rookie of the week award for the first time.

McNally scored four goals and assisted on another in two wins last week. She is tied for fourth in the league with eight goals and ranks fifth with 18 points.

Haskins scored two goals and assisted on another in two wins last week. She has five goals and one assist this year. Hamilton (6-1 overall, 3-0 Liberty) is tied for first place in the league standings. The Continentals visit William Smith College on Friday, Oct. 8.

Balbo scored two goals, including the first one, in a 6-0 win against Cazenovia on Sept. 29. It was the only game for Hamilton last week. Balbo is tied for first in the league with six goals and tied for third with 12 points.

Gergenti made a season-high 11 saves as she played all 110 minutes of a 0-0 tie at nationally ranked No. 7 William Smith on Oct. 2. It was the only game for Hamilton last week. Gergenti leads the league with a 0.37 goals against average and ranks fifth with 3.14 saves per game.
