GAMS ON THE LAM TO PERFORM AT HAMILTON COLLEGE

The Hamilton College Department of Theatre and Dance presents a special preview performance by Gams on the Lam, the DeWitt, N.Y. based comedy trio. The troupe will perform "The Way," on Tuesday, April 1, at 8 p.m. in the Minor Theater. Admission is $3 for students and $5 for the general public.

_Gams on the Lam is a physical theater company that creates original pieces using clown and slapstick comedy. Directed by John Plummer, actresses Patricia Buckley, Leslie Noble and Lauren Unbekant have performed at theaters, festivals and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada, and have been featured on Canada's BRAVO TV live performance series. Their unique urban style clowning is a comic exploration of women's experiences. Using a highly energized combination of clown, mime and slapstick, their performances are bold, kinetic and highly entertaining.

_"The Way" was commissioned by Contemporary Theater of Syracuse, Patrick J. O'Connor, producing director. Accidents and adventure await, as The Gams turn a simple road trip, into a psychedelic experience. Theatre Week Magazine said, "The Gams may have taken a wrong turn on the map, but they know the route to an audience's heart." The work was commissioned with public funds from the Individual Artists Program of the New York State Council on the Arts. For tickets and information, call 859-4057.
