Gordon Kaye '74 will be one of four industry professionals to judge Hudson Valley Wine Magazine’s first-ever "The Face of the Hudson Valley Wine" Label Competition.  The competition is currently accepting entries from all winemakers in the Hudson Valley American Viticultural Area.  Awards will go to the best-designed labels in a series of categories, including "Best Type Design," "Best Use of Illustration or Photography," "Most Memorable Label" and more.  Judging will take place in May 2010 and the winning labels in all categories will be published in the Summer 2010 issue of Hudson Valley Wine Magazine.

Kaye was selected as a judge because of his reputation as a design, branding and marketing industry professional.  For the past twenty years he has worked as editor and publisher of Graphic Designs USA, which, since 1963, has been the monthly trade magazine for graphic design professionals.  Prior to working at Graphic Design USA, Kaye was a Senior General Attorney at NBC Television Network, where he oversaw intellectual property and communications regulatory matters, and script clearance for Saturday Night Live.  Kaye enjoys speaking at graphic arts industry shows and events.

Kaye graduated from Hamilton with a concentration in government.  After Hamilton, he went on to receive his Masters of Public Administration from Princeton University in 1976 and his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 1978.  He is married to Susan Lewis Kaye K’75.  They have two daughters.  Their daughter, Sasha, graduated from Hamilton in 2005.
