Hamilton held off a late Hobart rally and prevailed 73-69. TheContinentals never trailed, but Hobart's Matt Pierce hit a jumper to pull theStatesmen to within two at 55-53 with 5:07 remaining. But consecutivethree-pointers by Kevin Thorpe (VVS HS) and Kevin Larson resulted in aneight-point Hamilton lead. The Statesmen got within four, but, Thorpe drainedtwo free throws with 0:10 seconds left to put Hamilton ahead 72-66. Hobart'sMark Callahan then hit a 27-foot three-pointer to cut the lead to three. ButMichael Schantz iced the game at the line, resulting in Hamilton'sfouth-consecutive win to start the season.
