Hamilton 73 Hobart 69

Hamilton held off a late Hobart rally and prevailed 73-69. The Continentals never trailed, but Hobart's Matt Pierce hit a jumper to pull the Statesmen to within two at 55-53 with 5:07 remaining. But consecutive three-pointers by Kevin Thorpe (VVS HS) and Kevin Larson resulted in an eight-point Hamilton lead. The Statesmen got within four, but, Thorpe drained two free throws with 0:10 seconds left to put Hamilton ahead 72-66. Hobart's Mark Callahan then hit a 27-foot three-pointer to cut the lead to three. But Michael Schantz iced the game at the line, resulting in Hamilton's fouth-consecutive win to start the season.
