Hamilton fashioned runs of 10-0 and 8-0 early in the secondhalf to break open a nine-point halftime advantage and rout Skidmore, 76-51, inan Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) men's basketball game playedat Scott Field House Tuesday night.

Junior forward Michael Schantz led three Continentals in double figures with24 points and added a game-high 10 rebounds. He is now just 15 points away frombecoming the 24th Hamilton player to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Juniorguard Max Stroman had 18 points, while senior reserve Mike Byrnes added acareer-high 12 for Hamilton (2-4, 2-2 UCAA)

After leading 39-30 at the break, the Continentals scored the first 10 pointsof the second half to take a 49-30 lead five minutes in. Then Hamilton scoredeight consecutive points to turn a 56-38 lead into a 64-38 advantage with fiveminutes left in the game.

Bob Johnson led the Thoroughbreds (7-4, 2-1 UCAA) with 13 points. Skidmorelost for just the second time in its last seven games. Hamilton limited theThoroughbreds to just 31% shooting (22-71), 5-21 from three-point range. GuardGreg Gaillard had a team-high eight rebounds.
