Roberta L. Krueger, the Leonard C. Ferguson Professor of French at Hamilton College, is the editor of a new book, The Cambridge Companion to Medieval Romance, and a contributor to another, A History of Women's Writing in France.

The Cambridge Companion to Medieval Romance (Cambridge University Press) is a collection of 15 essays by leading scholars on one of the most influential genres of Western Literature. Chapters describe the origins of early verse romance in 12th century French and Anglo-Norman courts and analyze the evolution of verse and prose romance in France, Germany, England, Italy and Spain throughout the Middle Ages. Krueger also wrote the book's introduction.

A History of Women's Writing in France (Cambridge University Press) is the first historical introduction to women's writing in France from the sixth century to the present. Krueger wrote the chapter titled, "Females voices in convents, courts and households: the French Middle Ages."
