Hamilton College will revive an old tradition with a winter carnival, Febfest 2000, Wintermission, from Feb. 14-19 on the campus.

Hamilton's first winter carnival was held in 1938, with events such as a hockey game, dance parties, crowning of the carnival queen and a figure skating exhibition by James and Grace Maden of the U.S. Olympic Team. The carnival continued with similar events until the mid-50s, when it lost popularity. Now, a group of Hamilton students is bringing back the winter carnival with the intention of livening up the hill and reviving the long-lost tradition.

Activities will include a snoccer tournament, sled race, snow sculpture contest and fireworks display.
