Hamilton junior Jon Schmiegel scored agame-high 23 points in leading the Continentals to a 70-52 victory in men'sbasketball action. Hamilton led throughout the game, holding a 28-23 halftimelead before Colby stormed back to cut the Continental lead to 31-30 at the16:46 mark. However, Hamilton was able to withstand the run, as a serious offouls sent both Schmiegel and junior forward Michael Schantz tothe free throw line to pad the Continental lead. Schmiegel andSchantz combined to hit on 16 of 23 (70%) foul shots for the game, mostof which came during a 18-4 run to put the White Mules away.
Schantz scored 19 points, almost six points below his average, butpulled-down a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior Kevin Thorpe added 12 pointsfor Hamilton, who improved to 13-8.
