Hamilton Program in Spain Visits Galicia
September 18, 2012
The Hamilton College Academic Year (or semester) in Spain began its fall semester in Madrid by traveling to Galicia on the Northwest Atlantic coast of Spain, where the group visited historic sites, enjoyed the gastronomy, and became acquainted with one other. Besides Hamilton students, this year’s group includes students from Amherst, Bryn Mawr, Davidson, Harvard, Scripps, Swarthmore and Williams.
In the picture, students, along with Professor Cecilia Hwangpo and Academic Affairs Coordinator Pedro Pérez Leal, are visiting the impressive square of the Obradoiro, in front of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, which has been a yearly destination for pilgrims and travelers who have walked the road to Santiago from the Middle Ages to the present day.
