A record 96 percent of the senior class atHamilton recently contributed money to purchase a high ropes course wherestudents will engage in physically and emotionally challenging activities.

The high ropes course, which is a series of initiatives placed 40-60 feet fromthe ground, will be used by various student groups, such as athletic teams andAdirondack Adventure participants. The community will also have access to thecourse.

Mari Clampitt, assistant director of Hamilton's Annual Fund, said the96 percent participation rate is a record for the senior gift campaign, whichwas initiated in 1982. It betters the old mark of 95.5 percent, set last year.She praised Senior Gift Chair Tabitha Bowling of Johnson City, N.Y. and the 10seniors who served as vice-chairs during the campaign.
