Hamilton College junior, Elyse Tatreau, a classical languages major from Framingham, Mass., has been awarded an Edwin, Frederick and Walter Beinecke Memorial Scholarship for $32,000 in support of her graduate education.

Tatreau was one of 17 award recipients from a field of 51 nominations. The scholarship consists of a $2,000 stipend to be used as she wishes, and $15,000 per year for two years of her graduate study in classics.

The Edwin, Frederick and Walter Beinecke Memorial Scholarship program was established by the board of directors of the Sperry Hutchinson Company to commemorate the three Beinecke brothers who led the company for more than 50 years. Since 1975, more than 180 college juniors from 72 different schools have been awarded scholarships for graduate education.
