Heather Haberl '94 was named Up & Coming Real Estate Lawyer of the Year at Chambers USA's first Women in Law Award ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in New York on Feb. 2. The ceremony is the most comprehensive national awards for women lawyers across the country and was supported by America's leading corporate counsel, who are the driving force for diversity in American law firms. Twenty-four awards were presented, with and short-listed firms and nominees selected based on in-depth Chambers research.

 

Haberl is Of Counsel to Covington & Burling LLP. She represents local, regional, and national owners, developers, property managers, tax-exempt organizations, and other users in all aspects of real estate transactions involving the acquisition, disposition, financing, management, leasing and construction of office buildings, industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, special use facilities, and residential projects.

 

At Hamilton, Haberl majored in geology and graduated cum laude. She went on to earn her master's degree in geology from Bryn Mawr College in 1996. In 2001 she earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School with highest honors.
